McDonald’s Philippines brings world-class customer experience with ‘NXTGEN’ stores
In 2018, McDonald’s Philippines introduced NXTGEN — a new store format equipped with a multi-point service system that enables a fast, convenient, and seamless experience. Filipinos can now enjoy the best of the McDonald’s experience from around the world.
The first McDonald’s NXTGEN flagship opened in McKinley West, Taguig City, last October 5, 2018, boasting an iconic façade of the famed golden arches which pays tribute to the very first McDonald’s store in Des Plaines Illinois. Inside, the flagship store offers customers a modern industrial design, a McCafé, and the new service platform featuring innovations that have been previously rolled out internationally: self-ordering kiosks that allow cashless payments, split counters for ordering and claiming, and Guest Experience Leaders -- highly trained crew members specifically tasked to entertain the needs of the customers and acquaint them with the NXTGEN experience.
“By bringing NXTGEN to the Philippines, McDonald’s affirms its goal to serve more love ko ‘to moments for every Filipino when they visit our stores. We are committed to continuously invest to elevate the experience of our Filipino consumers as we bring global innovations closer to home.” said Kenneth Yang, McDonald’s Philippines President and CEO.
To date, thousands of Filipinos have experienced NXTGEN as McDonald’s rolled out more than 30 NXTGEN stores, including conversions of existing stores following the new format, in several parts of the country such as Quezon City, Mandaluyong, Taguig, Makati, Manila, Pampanga, Cavite, Tagaytay, Davao and Boracay among others. The company is committed to building more NXTGEN stores in the country to cement its leadership in innovating for the customer.
Alongside its investment in creating a better experience for customers, McDonald’s Philippines also continued to expand its operations in the country, giving local employment a big boost. Last year, over 60 new stores were opened, outpacing its record of 52 in 2017. For the first time, residents of Calbayog City in Samar, Virac Catanduanes, El Salvador in Misamis Oriental, San Jose in Mindoro, Toril in Davao, Rosario in La Union, Kabankalan in Negros Occidental, Gerona in Tarlac, Jagna in Bohol, and Roxas in Capiz were able to enjoy their McDonald’s meals.
McDonald’s is bullish about growing the business and the brand with its plans to open more new stores, convert existing ones to NXTGEN and ramp up its current Filipino employee force of 60,000.
